CASUAL WRITING:
Dear Barnes & Noble,
I’m writing to you today to express my gratitude towards your business. Going to Barnes & Noble is the highlight of my day, from the wide selection of books to the little recommended-books receipt you get upon checkout (actually I really like the recommended book part).
I’m an avid reader and I’ll admit I used to be a Borders person. When they went out of business, I was lost. Where was I supposed to buy books now? Then I went to Barnes & Nobles and you quite literally saved my life. I can now buy books galore (actually not really because I have limited funds but as close to galore as I can get). Now the only place I shop is Barnes & Noble and I’m really happy I do. I usually stop by your store after school and I can wander around for hours just looking at books. Anytime I feel disinterested in reading, I can stop by your store and suddenly I regain the love for books and I love reading again.
I just genuinely want to thank you guys for being around. I want to thank you for keeping the booklover alive in me and for continuously feeding other bookworms. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Katiana Bimshas

FORMAL WRITING:
Dear Sprint:
I am writing to you today to express my dissatisfaction with your service. I was hoping when I made the switch recently, you would prove better than my last carrier but it seems that it is not so.
I changed to your company from Verizon. I was pleased with the upgraded phone, the enormous amount of storage, and the 40 gigs of data. However, it is the data itself that I am displeased with. There are three phones on the line I share. Yet, whenever we are even a day behind payment, only the data gets shut off on my phone. The other two phones’ data stays intact. Another data problem is I get the ‘1x’ symbol in the corner quite often, limiting what I can do. The data drops as well so I am left with nothing. Your coverage is also not ideal, I often have ‘3G’ as opposed to ‘LTE’. Because of all the problems I have had with data, I regret switching over.
I would like, at the very least, to have Sprint messages stop being sent to my phone and to stop having only my phone’s data shut off. Perhaps you could grant a longer grace period, so that customers can pay on time without having their data turned off. Thank you for everything else you have offered.
Sincerely,
Katiana Bimshas
